Our Team

Dr. Ryan Zaidinski, affectionately known as Dr. Z, is a dedicated optometrist based in Madison, Ohio, with deep roots in the Cleveland area. A proud Buckeye, he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry after a decade-long career as a licensed optician.
 
Following graduation, Dr. Z worked at Retina Specialists of Ohio and most recently at Kellis Eye and Laser Center, where he gained experience in advanced dry eye treatments, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, foreign body removal, and evaluating pre- and post- surgical patients.
 
Dr. Z joined North Coast Optical in March 2024. Passionate about providing the highest quality eye care, he believes in tailoring treatment plans to meet the individual needs of each patient. His unique blend of technical and medical training positions him as a problem-solver, tackling challenging cases to deliver personalized solutions.
 
Currently residing in Willoughby with his fiancé and daughter, Dr. Z enjoys golfing and is actively learning salsa dancing and Portuguese. He is excited to serve the Madison and surrounding areas and warmly welcomes new patients to his practice, whether for routine annual exams or urgent eye care needs.

 

Dr. Mark Bashore is a 1988 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for his undergraduate studies. Following graduation, Dr. Bashore joined the United States Air Force as a Captain, and served as an optometrist at Malcolm Grow Medical Center at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. He was the head of the Air Force V.I.P Clinic in Washington, D.C. serving the Generals, Admirals, Pentagon and White House V.I.P.s. Dr. Bashore was promoted to Optometry Clinic Chief at Andrews Air Force Base Hospital during the Gulf War, and earned the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.

After an honorable discharge in 1991, Dr. Bashore relocated to Madison, Ohio, to join Dr. Ron Wheeler and optician James Litnar to open the new North Coast Optical building, serving as the full time optometrist.

Dr. Bashore enjoys meeting with his patients to solve their vision and eye conditions based on their concerns, occupation, hobbies and lifestyle. He is interested in finding the precise type of eyewear or contact lenses to improve the patient’s vision. He enjoys educating his patients; explaining the exam tests and spectacle/contact lens options.

He has been involved with patients seeking LASIK vision correction for more than 20 years. LASIK vision correction requires proper screening and expectations. Dr. Bashore wants to make sure if you choose LASIK vision correction, that you will be a perfect candidate to enjoy a lifetime of improved distance vision.

Dr. Bashore and his family have lived in Madison since 1994. He and his wife raised 3 children in Madison and enjoy the community. Dr. Bashore is a lifelong Ohio State Buckeyes fan and cant wait for football season!
